Welcome to FRENS

FRENS is a UK-China consortium bringing together experience and expertise from research intensive universities and leading commercial organisations in the UK and China to advance the reliability of renewable energy systems.

The participants have diverse and complementary skills and backgrounds including: aerodynamics, electromagnetic and mechanical design, manufacturing, physical engineering system modelling & simulation, power electronics, sensor technologies, condition monitoring, non-destructive testing & evaluation (NDT&E), micro-generation including domestic CHP, micro-grid, control, ageing mechanisms, life-cycle management and reliability enhancement for future reliable renewable energy systems including wind, hydro, wave and tidal stream energy.
